Do you know that every site hosted at Pressable.com has Jetpack Premium included for FREE? That’s a $99 savings per site, per year!
Jetpack Premium has a lot of really neat features, such as Rewind, which allows you to restore your website with one click. When activated, Rewind backs up your website once every 24 hours. So, if something happens to your site that you aren’t happy with, you can always restore it to a previous point in time.
Steps to activating Jetpack Premium at Pressable
Before you proceed with the following steps, please double check the following settings to ensure Jetpack activates properly:
- Make sure you have created a site on Pressable.
- Check the email address for your Pressable account: https://my.pressable.com/settings/contact_information/edit
- Check the email address of your user in your WordPress website. This email address must match your Pressable email
You must activate Jetpack within your WordPress website (Step #1) before pressing the green “Activate” button in your Pressable control panel (Step #3). If you pressed this activate button too early, please contact us at email@example.com letting us know and we can fix it.
1. Login to your site’s WordPress Dashboard and activate the Jetpack plugin
If you are the first user to connect the site to Jetpack, make sure you login to admin using an account that: 1) has administrator capabilities and 2) has the same email address as the site owner of the Pressable account. In other words, your admin user email address and your Pressable site email address must match for the Jetpack Premium activation to be successful. Your WordPress.com account can be associated with any email address.
2. Connect to WordPress.com / Set up Jetpack
Once Jetpack is activated, then click “Set up Jetpack” to get your site connected to Jetpack and WordPress.com.
If you are already logged into your WordPress.com account, click the “Approve” button to authorize the connection. You may also be asked to share your credentials. If so, click “Share Your Credentials” as well.
If you are not already logged into WordPress.com, you will see a request to login. You can login to an existing WordPress.com account or create a new one.
If you are asked to sign up for a Jetpack plan, please click “Start with free.”
After this step, you should be returned back to your site.
3. Return to the Site Settings in the Pressable Control Panel to Activate Jetpack Premium
Login to https://my.pressable.com/ then access your Site Settings to see the option to activate Jetpack Premium which will look like this:
Once you click “Activate,” there will be a notification letting you know that activation is underway. After about a minute, there will be another notification informing you that the Premium activation is complete:
Once Premium is activated, you can manage your Jetpack settings from admin or WordPress.com. If you have any problems with Jetpack features, please reach out to Jetpack support.
