When you log into your MyPressable Control Panel, you will see that your site is either in Development Mode or Production Mode as seen below.
What does this mean? Let’s start from the beginning, when you create a site with Pressable, it will launch in Development Mode by default. On this mode, caching for your site is turned off. The reason we do this is because most people want to make changes to customize their sites. When the caching is off, any style/theme/plugin changes will update automatically since every time someone visits your site, they get a fresh version from our local servers as caching is turned off.
Once you are happy and are not going to make any further changes to the design of your site for the time being, then we recommend that you put your site in Production Mode. On this mode, your site leverages from the server caching and CDN that we have in place for customers to give them an extra bit of speed.
You can switch to any of the 2 modes any time you prefer.
If you need to make a quick design change while in production mode, you can log into MyPressable Control Panel, and “Purge CDN” and/or “Flush Object Cache” button, which clears cache on our servers and with our CDN.
You can read more about the levels of caching in Pressable to know the difference between the caching setups.
